Topanga is where I live and work. Since the 1940s Topanga has attracted many creative people. If you click on the "about topanga" link on the right of this page you can learn a little bit of the story of this unique village and images of some of those people who have loved Topanga. Only about 20 minutes drive from Santa Monica or downtown Los Angeles the sixties Californian culture still lingers here in the shadows of the oak trees. Charles Eames built his famous house in 1945 in Pacific Palisades below where we will be walking.

If you are not yet a member of the LinkedIn Design Community Groups that is hosting the Mixer, you may be interested in joining. Here are links:

Where:
Car Park, Trippet Park Entrance Topanga State Park. Meet in the area of the Picnic benches near the bathroom facilities at the car park inside the park entrance.

Cost:
No charge for the walk. The park charges a $15 fee for parking a vehicle inside the park. There is no charge if you park outside the park entrance on Entrada and walk in.

Who will be coming:
Designers of all types

Bring:
Sunscreen, a hat, snacks and 1 to 2 liters of water to drink.

The Plan:
We'll start in Topanga State Park and proceed along the ridge on E. Topanga Fire Rd. towards the ocean to Parker Mesa Overlook. We'll take a little break there and have some snacks etc. while enjoying the great view. From there we'll head back the same way we came.

The Trail & Difficulty:
This will be a relatively easy fire road walk with only a few moderate hills and with great views. Parker Mesa Overlook is at about the same elevation as the start. There is not a large amount of elevation gain or loss throughout the walk, just a few ups and downs. It should be a good walk for beginners/first timers.

As event organizers we assume absolutely no responsibility for you or your equipment. If you choose to participate you assume all risk involved.
